Synerchem Corp. was formed in late 2009 as a result of the change in Clariant Pigment and Additives Division Business model for the Philippines, which was to operate via a third party. This decision was prompted by the Clariant Project initiative as defined by Clariant CEO Harriot Kottmann. Thereafter, the local team, headed by former Clariant Philippines President and Pigment and Additives Division Head, Alexander Tan proceeded to create the new company with the objective of continuing the business without disruption to customer activities. In line with this, Synerchem was registered with the SEC on November 17, 2009.
It acquired office location in Madrigal Business Park, Alabang, Muntinlupa City and utilized the warehouse and delivery services of UTI Global Logistic, also located in Alabang.
All direct staff of the division became part of the newly formed company thereby assuring the smooth transition and handling of all promotions, inquiries and orders from customers. Synerchem absorbed all inventories and relevant office equipment and assets of Clariant Philippines in order to further assure minimal disruption.
Apart from Clariant, other suppliers also appointed Synerchem as agent and distributor such as Eckart GmbH and Everspring Chemicals Ltd. Eckart, a member of Altana Group is a world leader in metal effect pigments and Everspring is a major regional manufacturer of anti-oxidants.
